I love classical art, history, photography, images of days gone by, actually one of my dreams has always been to work at a museum and be able to share historic knowledge with others. But since I can’t do that my husband who is a photographer has been humoring me on a project I’ve been wanting to put together for years.
About a year ago we started working on my Homage to the Classics Project. We’ve taken classic images and paintings and have recreated them, some we’ve tried to maintain the way the image looks and other’s we’ve added our own spin.
This project is a really big deal for me because I tried many years ago when I was a photographer myself and before the onset of digital cameras to do a similar project, but ended up shelving it and never really bringing it back to life until now.
I started to bring up the subject with my husband a few years ago and now we have finally started to recreated a few of the many images I dream of putting together. This is my creative outlet and I’m having so much fun trying with these. So far we have worked with a great group of people who have volunteered to participate.
I’ve even modeled for a few of these myself mainly the Frida Kahlo which as you all know I’m a totally crazy fan of and of course Morticia Addams because I’m creepy and it just seemed like the right image for me to portray.
So as we move forward with this project I am still looking for volunteers who might want to have fun bringing these classics to life. So what am I looking for?? Well, Girls, Boys, Fat, Think, Tall, Short, Orange, Green, Purple basically you don’t have to be a model God knows I’m no model but I’ve had fun doing this.
Here are the basics:
- You don’t have to be a model to volunteer just have fun and together we’ll do this.
- Keep in mind our studio is located in Stamford, CT so preferably you’re local or willing to travel over for the shoot.
That’s it it’s very simple.
