Frying an Egg in a Cast Iron Skillet

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted I’ve been pretty busy with Family these past few weeks.  We had a visit from my step son who we hadn’t seen in almost 4 yrs and it was exciting and fun to have him and all the family together.

He was here for a short time but we took advantage of our time together and did a few things from taking him to get his tattoo, to a trip to huge family dinner and a trip to NYC where I accidentally ran him over.

Sadly off he went but not before I sent him off with one of my favorite cookbooks. 12790860_10208720403024347_834265300293563239_n

After his visit we did a sale at the Haunt Flea Market in New York and it was fun but tons of work getting all the materials and sales products ready to go.

Needless to say I’m just getting around to doing videos and I though what better way to start then with a good old hearty breakfast like fried eggs in a cast iron skillet.  Yes I know people hear eggs and cast iron in the same sentence and freak out but the reality is that cooking in cast iron can not only be fairly easy but pretty healthy for you too.

So here is a quick video on how to fry and egg in a cast iron skillet.

Now go on and give it a try and let me know how it worked out for you!

  1. Ooooh! I’m one of those people who fears eggs in my cast iron skillet (even though I use it for so much else). Great topic to tackle!

How lovely that you got to spend some time with your step-son after not seeing him for so long!

  2. Oooo, my husband just got us a cast iron pan, but I don’t think he knows about that cleaner and conditioner stuff. We will have to pick some up!
